Enrollment Decision and Career Goals:
Originally from India but born in Saudi Arabia, I made the decision to pursue higher education in the United States. I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toledo. I am pursuing a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. Alongside my studies, I enrolled in the Lean Six Sigma Expert Master’s Program offered by Simplilearn. This program allowed me to take on new projects and outperform my peers, leading to a 21% increase in my average pay rate for a research position.
My experience with Simplilearn:
My experience with Simplilearn was truly enlightening. The instructors were knowledgeable and highly engaging. I particularly appreciated how the live classes seamlessly complemented the self-learning course. The simulation projects presented a good challenge, enabling me to apply my knowledge logically.
Regarding my professional journey, I have primarily focused on research. I have undertaken projects aimed at improving product design and reducing overall costs. My projects have been diverse, from developing RO polymer membranes to enhancing the design of sensor devices for the NASA GLOBE Program. Currently, I am working on refining a PCR procedure to detect inflammatory cytokines using a low-cost thermocycler. I am passionate about continuously learning and exploring new areas where quality can be improved, and costs can be reduced.
Simplilearn provided an exceptional overall experience. From their proactive outreach when I was browsing courses to the simplicity of selecting classes, the process was smooth and straightforward. The instructors were excellent communicators, ensuring high engagement with students. They took the time to understand each student’s background and facilitated interactive learning for those new to quality control. The course structure, including knowledge checks, quizzes, and simulation projects, fostered a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. I particularly valued the opportunity to learn new software like Minitab in addition to MS Excel.
