As documented by Ridhi Sarda
I am an American learner who upskilled with the Professional Certificate in Digital Supply Chain Management offered by Simplilearn in collaboration with Purdue University. I have had a widespread professional career over a span of about 15 years and includes working with TCS, Cognizant, and other companies. I aim to become a C-level executive in the future and am confident that my enriched skill set, when coupled with my zeal to keep improving my performance, will help me to reach those goals.
Professional Journey
My professional career started in 2007 as a management trainee. I worked in TCS for almost nine years in various positions, starting as an analyst in India and finishing as a consultant in the US. I have worked in multiple countries: India, the US, the UK, and Thailand. In 2016, I joined Cognizant, where I took up several roles, including a product manager role in 2020. I worked in software consulting for about 13 years and now I am working in the logistics area.Â
In my current job, I work as a product manager at a logistics technology company called RXO. My product management professional experience includes working with manufacturing and retail industries in warranty management, ecommerce, supply chain, and after-sales process areas.
Upskilling
After earning my MBA and APICS certification, I sought something more to fill the gap. I evaluated a few options, but I liked Simplilearn’s focus. Also, the collaboration with Purdue University led me towards Simplilearn.Â
I knew that upskilling was the solution for returning to work after the pandemic, so I enrolled in the Professional Certificate in Digital Supply Chain Management offered by Simplilearn in collaboration with Purdue University. I wanted to improve my performance and enhance my skills so that I could restart my professional career.
How the Course Helped
Since I work in the logistics industry, I am able to grasp the industry terminology easily, understand what is going on in the minds of my teammates or clients, and understand how a business could potentially be run.
I am also researching several things in the market. Understanding supply chain logistics really helps me understand the different kinds of business and operation logistics, which in turn helps me design better products because I understand the users and the processes.
Overall Experience
I had a great learning experience with this program. The curriculum is great, and so is the interaction in the class. Apart from the comprehensive course material, I learned so much from my peers, who came from different backgrounds and geographies, offering a lot of multidisciplinarity learning. One of the best features of the course is the blended learning model, which enables flexible learning and making the most out of the live sessions. I also really like the depth of the course, and the rigorous curriculum, and the support was tremendously helpful.
