As documented by Hemangi Patgiri
Technological innovations are on an exponential rise, and so is the demand for skilled professionals. I knew expanding my skill set would certainly be the best gift I could give myself. It would not only help me stay updated but also bring in a fresh breeze of change– a new career altogether.
My Journey
Born and raised in Guwahati, I completed my graduation in Economics from Handique’s Girls College and pursued MBA in Marketing and Finance from Gauhati University. I bagged my first job at HDFC Bank as a Relationship Manager and worked there for 1.5 years. Later I joined Lets See Tour and Travels as a Sales Manager and dedicated six months to the firm. It was in 2016 that I joined Royal Research as an Academic Researcher, and my career saw a massive change. Relishing the change, I worked dedicatedly for 6 months and was promoted to Team Lead. My efforts didn’t budge, and after 2 years, I advanced to the Manager position. I led HR Operations and Administration, Recruitment and Onboarding, Market Research, Content Writing, Social Media Management, Vendor Management, and Corporate Affairs.
Newer Responsibilities Brought Along the Need To Upskill
When entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the content team of my organization, I felt the need to upskill myself. I also had to supervise the marketing managers regarding the sales and content material they created for the company’s digital and social media platforms.
The position required me to supervise and provide guidance to the team. I felt a strong urge to master the domain and then extend my knowledge to others for the organization’s benefit.
