I am Commander Prasad YVV, a veteran of the Indian Navy and a recipient of prestigious awards like the “Best Citizens Of India Award”​ and the “Glory of India”​ award. With over two decades of service in the Navy and subsequent roles in strategic defense advisory, I sought to enhance my expertise in cybersecurity to better serve my clients. Opting for Simplilearn’s Post Graduate Program in Cyber Security (MIT), I aimed to bolster my knowledge and foresee potential threats to systems, crucial for my consulting endeavors.
Professional Background
My professional journey spans 21 years in the Indian Navy, holding positions such as Commander and various leadership roles in missile systems, electronic warfare, and combat management. Post-retirement, I transitioned to senior management roles in PSUs and private defense electronics companies, earning recognition for my contributions to the industry. I am also an adjunct faculty at BITS-Pilani and have been honored with several awards and nominations, including the Padma Shri Award.
Reasons for Upskilling
As a Principal Strategic Defence Adviser, staying abreast of market advancements is essential. I chose to upskill in cybersecurity to broaden my perspective and contribute effectively to my role. The Post Graduate Program in Cyber Security was deemed instrumental in achieving this goal.
