PRINCE2® Certification in a week: An e-mail interview with Mr. Davide Maraschi

Simplilearn recently conducted PRINCE2® Certification Workshop in London, UK from Feb 6-9, 2012. We are glad to announce that Mr. Davide Maraschi, Regional Project Manager, MetLife, London participated in the PRINCE2® Foundation and PRINCE2® Practitioner certification training workshop and successfully cleared PRINCE2® exam, obtaining PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner certifications in 4 days.

Mr. Davide Maraschi is a Regional Project Manager Western Europe leading the implementation program of Solvency II at MetLife; one of the largest providers of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs worldwide.

We had an opportunity to engage in an e-mail conversation with Mr. Davide Maraschi. Here’s the transcript of the e-mail interview on his road to PRINCE2® certification in a week. We thank Mr. Maraschi for answering our questions.

Q: When did you start preparing for PRINCE2® Certification?

A: I had a quick look at the online training the week prior to the course.

Q: What was your motivation for attaining PRINCE2® Certification?

A: I am keen on improving myself and I also wanted to have the certification for my resume.

Q: How many hours of preparation did you put in on a weekly basis?

A: Probably around 5 hours.

Q: Did your schedule allow for continuous learning?

A: Yes, it did.

Q: How did Simplilearn help you in achieving your certification goals?

A: We are lucky enough to have an experienced and entertaining trainer who helped us focus on the material using a very engaging approach.

Q: What are your thoughts on our blended learning model (classroom + online training) for PRINCE2® certification preparation?

A: I think it works well, particularly the online presentation with questions at the end of each paragraph.

Q: How many tests did you take from our online mock tests?

A: I took one PRINCE2® certification mock test online.

Q: Did the real-life PRINCE2® Exam mock questions prepare you for the actual exam?

A: Yes, it did.

Q: What were your strong points?

A: I think my overall project management experience allowed me to apply common sense to make educated guesses.

Q: What matters more – experience, knowledge or both with the right credential/s?

A: Both.

Q: What goals have you set for yourself this year?

A: I would like to take the MS Project certification next.

Q: What advice do you have for our PRINCE2® certification aspirants?

A: Practice with mock up tests and apply common sense as much as you can in the final test.
